Paussible

Notes that stay yours

Some things you write are nobody else's business

A journal you would not want read over your shoulder is a journal you write less honestly in. So Paussible can put a door on it — one line at a time, or the whole thing.

How it works

  1. Lock one note — the rest of the journal stays yours to browse, that line waits behind

your unlock

2. Or lock the whole journal — every word behind one door, opened once and then left open for a while so it never becomes a chore

3. Opening it again uses the unlock you already trust on your phone, or four digits of your own

A door, not a vault

Worth saying plainly, because privacy claims are usually bigger than the thing they describe: your words live on your phone, where they have always lived. There is no account to sign into and no server holding a copy by default, so there is nothing to leak and nothing to hand over. (Switch on the optional account backup and your words live in your own private row — protected so only you can ever read them.) What the lock does is keep the person who picks your phone up from reading what you wrote.

That is the whole promise — and it is one we can keep, because there is nowhere else for your words to be.

The honest part

If you forget your PIN there is a way back in — a check against the email you recorded on your own profile, not a code from a server, because no server has your words to send you. Everything else about the lock is ordinary: it never blocks a pause, it never nags, and a journal that has never been locked looks exactly like a journal.
